This paper discusses the Blue Economy, which responds to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 1; 8; 14:15; 17). Modern world faces many challenges related to sustainable economic solutions and management systems. The article presents the various databases related to the blue economy and its research. Economics is the science that studies how people meet ever-increasing needs in the face of limited resources. The world's oceans, seas and water resources are vital, a source of livelihood for billions of people, and involved in a variety of economic activities.

The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the peculiarities and problematic issues of the blue economy and data related to its research in the world and in Georgia. Also,to identify and evaluate the anatomy of the existing problems in Georgia and to determine the ways of prevention and elimination in the future; To determine the role of different institutions in this process (state, international organizations, private sector, society, etc.).

The first part of the article raises a number of issues related to the implementation of blue economy policy. Explains the importance of databases in planning future steps. The concept of the blue economy and the approaches to its accounting and measurement are discussed. The second part of the paper focuses on integrated approaches and existing data. The experience of different countries as well as practical exercises are given as examples. Thesis raises some problems which are related to the implementation of the blue economy policy. Moreover, it describes resources of Georgia and mentions already implemented events. There is almost no use of marine resources in Georgia, which is an untapped resource and a deficit of the real economy. With consistent, integrated, and science-based management and regulation approaches, potential benefits can actually be reaped.

Based on the analysis of the previous material, conclusions are made, the shortcomings of the existing data and their evaluation methods are discussed, and the author's views / position and recommendations for their improvement are given.
