In 1972 graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University’s faculty of Geography-Geology with the academic degree in “Economic geography of foreign countries”. In 1978 she graduated from the Institute of Economy and Law of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences with postgraduate qualifications and degree in “Economy and demography of population”

She is the author of nearly 20 scientific publications. Spheres of her scientific activity are: demography, migration, family sociology.
