The paper extensively discusses the extraordinary resources and potential of the oceans, which provide enormous opportunities for the world's economic development. It is also noted here that all economic activities related to seas and oceans are united by the common term - "blue" economy, which was first used by the Belgian economist Gunter Pauli in 2004. The paper broadly presents the importance of the study and development of the "blue" economy in the inclusion of the Black Sea "blues" in international programs and its role for the sustainability and further success of the economy of the Black Sea region and in particular Georgia.
