∘ Ana Tsulaia ∘ Levan Mikava ∘ THE ROLE OF MUNICIPAL MARKETING IN SELF-GOVERNMENT DEVELOPMENT Summary In modern conditions, the responsibility of the bodies of the self-governing unit is to solve issues of local importance, which are impossible only by using the traditional methods of self-government. Recently, issues of municipal marketing have been actively discussed, although examples of its use in Georgian municipalities are very few. Implementation of municipal marketing is undeservedly given little attention because self-governing bodies focus on solving current problems, while municipal marketing is focused both on researching specific requirements and on achieving long-term goals. Municipal marketing, as one of the tools of market relations, is aimed at revealing the internal advantages of the territory, attracting investments, which is a prerequisite for increasing the competitiveness of the municipality. Accordingly, the introduction and implementation of municipal marketing contributes to the socio-economic development of self-government. Key words: municipality, marketing, self-government |
