∘ Giorgi Kharshiladze ∘ DYNAMICS OF GEORGIA-EU TRADE AND ECONOMIC RELATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS IN THE NEW GEOPOLITICAL REALITY Summary Throughout the 30-year history of Georgia-EU relations, there have been dates when Georgia has consistently moved from one stage to a qualitatively higher and more important stage. In this regard, December 14, 2023 is a very important date, when the 27 member states of the European Union unanimously made a historic decision for our country regarding granting the status of a candidate for the European Union. As a result, Georgia-EU relations have moved to a new stage. Added to all this was the Russia-Ukraine war, which essentially changed the geopolitical and economic situation both in Europe and in the rest of the world. The mentioned process will affect Georgia to some extent, because the strategic location of Georgia may play an essential role in both the political and economic aspects of Georgia-EU, because the EU itself is trying to make the internal economy even more diversified, through new suppliers or a road map.
