It explores the legislative framework regulating food safety both in Georgia and the European Union, emphasizing the role of international organizations that support countries in addressing related challenges, including drafting, revising, and updating national legislation. The study highlights enforcement mechanisms such as inspections, audits, fines, and sanctions, aimed at maintaining high standards of food safety. The author concludes that improving existing legislation and regulatory frameworks is essential, as ensuring food safety is ultimately a state prerogative.
