∘ Khatuna Berishvili ∘ Marika Goguadze ∘ ANALYSIS OF GEORGIA–EUROPEAN UNION TRADE AND ECONOMIC RELATIONS AND SPECIFICS OF RESEARCH Summary The trade and economic relations between Georgia and the European Union have significantly expanded and deepened in recent years, particularly following the 2014 Association Agreement and the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA). Between 2020 and 2024, exports to EU markets increased on average by 250 million USD annually, underscoring the strategic role of the European Union in Georgia’s economy. However, economic diversification, compliance with high standards, and the attraction of investment remain key priorities to ensure the country’s sustainable development. Deepening relations with the EU market not only promotes economic growth but also enhances political and social stability. Future research and policy development should focus on market expansion, structural reforms of the economy, and harmonization with international standards to secure the competitiveness and resilience of Georgia’s economy. |
