TRENDS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGICAL APPROACHES IN THE ENERGY SECTOR: THE CONTEXT OF GEORGIAS ENERGY SECURITY[1]

Summary

Energy security remains one of the most critical and rapidly evolving fields in the modern world, where technological innovations play a decisive role in ensuring accessibility, reliability, and sustainability of energy. Against the backdrop of current global challenges, the resilience of energy infrastructure, optimal resource management, and the integration of renewable sources are increasingly becoming strategic priorities for states. The aim of this research is to examine the trends in the implementation of innovative technological approaches in the energy sector and to analyze their impact on Georgia’s energy security. Particular attention is given to technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, automation, smart grids, and energy storage systems, which are transforming the traditional models of energy production and consumption. The paper also addresses the emerging challenges of cybersecurity in the energy sector, which directly affect the resilience of critical infrastructure. The innovative aspect of the study lies in its integration of technological, social, and regulatory components—thus enabling the development of not only technical progress but also socially and ethically responsible policies in the field of energy. The conclusions present recommendations aimed at strengthening the resilience and technological sustainability of Georgia’s energy system
